Bruner, Kami

Kami Bruner

Since graduating from Sewanee, she has worked in a variety of vocations, including Peace and Justice campaigns, an internship for the U.S. Consulate in Germany, running a statewide drug/alcohol/violence prevention program for middle schools, volunteering with Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program, serving on planning committees for outdoor classrooms, environmental summits, and alternative healthcare access, studying herbalism in the mountains of Montana, coordinating monthly bike rides to promote alternative transportation, and co-founding a collectively run DIY community space dedicated to social justice, education, and art. She believes the religion department not only prepares majors for ‘deep bus stop conversations,’ but truly prepares them to listen to and learn from people, understand where they are coming from, what motivates them, and to find commonalities while celebrating differences.
